Why TrueBrodo is getting a new jar
TrueBrodo is getting a new jar and a new label. The actual reason for this is quite unspectacular: our previous jar became significantly more expensive.
Instead of simply passing on these additional costs, we looked for an alternative that would allow us to keep our price as stable as possible. In doing so, we were also able to improve a few things that had been bothering us about the old jar for some time.
A better-protected lid
With the old jar, the lid was wider than the jar itself and was therefore relatively unprotected. It was prone to damage, particularly during palletizing and storage.
With the new jar, it’s back to what you’re used to with most jars: the jar has a larger diameter than the lid, which protects it.
The new jar is slightly wider and shorter than the previous one. This makes it look a little smaller at first glance.
New: 355 ml
With the new jar, we are also changing the fill quantity. There will now be 355 ml of broth in the jar instead of the previous 380 ml.
The previous jars were very full, and we repeatedly received feedback that the broth would splash out when opened. Therefore, we will be leaving a little more room in the future.
We are not changing the amount of bones used: we continue to simmer over 320 grams of bones per jar. There is simply slightly less water included – making the broth a little more concentrated.
If you prefer it less strong, simply add a little water when heating it up.
Less fuss
The new jar also comes with a new label. The illustration is gone, and the design is clearer, more minimalist, and slightly more modern.
This fits our standards: high concentration, the best raw materials, and as little fluff around it as possible. No fuss, just the essentials.
The transition will happen gradually
We are using up all our existing jars and labels. The various varieties will therefore not all be switched at the same time.
Roasted Beef Broth will be the first to arrive in the new jar. During the transition period, it may happen that the old jar is still shown in the shop while the new one is already being delivered – or vice versa.
What stays the same
The recipe remains the same. We continue to make our broths ourselves in our own certified organic production kitchen.
The jar is changing. The way we make TrueBrodo is not.
