K-Tip test, 60% vegetables & how to cook our broth

K-Tip has tested vegetable broths again. Most jars contain mainly salt, artificial glutamate, palm fat, and fillers like maltodextrin. There's hardly any actual vegetables – mostly just a few visible, rolled vegetable pieces.

We are not considered in such tests. Test magazines are legally required to base their tests on market shares and test the largest manufacturers.

Our jars contain 60% real vegetables. No maltodextrin, no yeast extract, no artificial glutamate.

Miso instead of yeast extract Instead of using yeast extract or glutamate for more flavor, we see miso as the natural alternative.

We deliberately sell miso and vegetable broth separately. Those who want a pure vegetable broth just use the broth. Those who want more depth and umami add miso. This way, you can dose it yourself.

Preparation in 3 minutes

Our jars contain real vegetables, not malt extract that dissolves instantly. Therefore, the broth is briefly cooked. The miso is only added at the end so it doesn't overcook.

Ingredients:

  • 2 dl water

  • 1 level teaspoon vegetable broth

  • ½ teaspoon miso

Here's how:

  1. Pour water and vegetable broth into a small pot.

  2. Bring to a boil and simmer gently for about 3 minutes until the vegetables dissolve.

  3. Remove from heat. Only now add the miso and stir – do not boil anymore!

  4. Finally, add a little oil or butter as desired.

Note: A small residue of vegetable pieces will remain at the bottom of the cup. This is normal because it is real vegetables.

Flavor enhancers at the end:

  • Asian: A few drops of roasted sesame oil.

  • Italian: A splash of cold-pressed olive oil.

  • Classic: Let a small piece of butter melt in it.
